Jeffrey Toobin is an American lawyer, blogger, author who served as the Chief Legal Analyst for CNN and a staff writer for The New Yorker until 2020. 

In 2000 Toobin received an Emmy Award for his coverage of the Elián González custody saga, which had resulted in the return of the boy from the United States to Cuba.

He is the author of nine best-selling books including such topics as the kidnapping and trial of Patty Hearst, the trial of OJ Simpson, the Clinton-Lewinsky affair, and the year 200 election battle between George W. Bush and Al Gore, among others. 

Two of his books, covering the OJ Simpson Trial and the Clinton-Lewinsky affair, were adapted for television.

He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and Harvard law school where he served as an Editor on the Harvard Law Review.
