The Institute for Public Relations (IPR) Measurement Commission has announced that Mark Weiner, CEO of PRIME Research Americas, has been elected Director for 2017-2018, effective immediately.

Weiner is one of the founding members of the Measurement Commission.  He is known for his extensive expertise in communications research, with an important focus on proving and improving the value and ROI of public relations and its ability to drive positive business results.

The 20 year old Commission's objective is to be a unique and comprehensive source that is dedicated to elevating the profession’s understanding and application of communication measurement and evaluation. The commission brings together researcher-practitioners and thought-leaders in PR research, measurement, and evaluation.  These professionals come from four segments of the global public relations industry: corporations, government, and non-profits; public relations agencies; research firms; and academia.Weiner will be the eighth person to chair the Commission as they explore, create and disseminate best practice content related to research on, in and for the profession.

“Following in the footsteps of those accomplished leaders who served the Commission and the profession so ably in the past, and working alongside my fellow members as we prepare for the future, I am honored to accept the position,” said Weiner. “Since its beginning, the Commission has served as a beacon for those communicators seeking to demonstrate and generate the best results from their organizations’ investment in public relations.”

Weiner has an impressive background and serves the PR community in a multitude of ways.  He is a Trustee for the Institute for Public Relations, a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Museum of Public Relations. He is a member of AMEC, PRSA, IABC, and sits on the Editorial Advisory Boards of PRSA Strategist and PR News. He is also the co-author of one of IPR’s latest signature studies “Irreversible: The Public Relations Big Data Revolution.”

“Mark’s professional expertise coupled with his career focus on exploring new ways to prove and improve the value of public relations through research will help promote IPR’s mission,” said Tina McCorkindale, President & CEO of IPR.
