Celebrating Black PR History: Looking Beyond the Data

There have been tremendous efforts underway the past five years to study the effectiveness of our diversity programs. DEI programs at the Page Society, IPR, the PR Council, PRSA, and most particularly, the Diversity Action Alliance (DAA), have sought to raise the number of diverse students entering the field. And, equally important, several efforts have been made to retain these young employees as they move into management roles. A new research study by DAA and IPR—to be announced during this event—will shed light on the programs that are working, those that are not, and those that can be strengthened. Plus, a panel of PR leaders will reveal the programs that have worked well in their companies to not only attract diverse talent, but have managed to retain them through the senior ranks.
