Edelman Strengthens Public Affairs Team with the Addition of Nikki Haley and Max Baucus
In a major expansion of its public affairs expertise, Edelman has appointed former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, as Vice Chair, and former U.S. Senator and U.S. Ambassador to China, Max Baucus, as Senior Advisor. The appointments, announced today, will bolster Edelman’s global Public Affairs consultancy, EGA, adding two influential political figures to its roster.
Founded in 1952 by Daniel Edelman, Edelman has grown into the world’s largest independent communications firm, known for its ability to navigate the intersection of politics, business, and public perception. The firm’s public affairs division has played a crucial role in helping clients manage global issues and reputational risks in an increasingly complex political landscape. CEO Richard Edelman highlighted the importance of this expansion, stating, "Politics has become a critical consideration for clients in brand marketing, employee engagement, and reputation management."
Nikki Haley’s experience in foreign investment and international relations will complement Baucus’ deep expertise in trade, agriculture, and policy, providing clients with unparalleled strategic counsel. Haley said, “Brands need to anticipate what’s coming next. I’m excited to help Edelman’s clients navigate the challenges ahead.
Baucus echoed this sentiment, praising Edelman’s trusted reputation and long-standing legacy. “I look forward to putting my experience to work for Edelman’s clients,” he added.
Both Haley and Baucus will officially join Edelman in early September, strengthening the firm’s ability to advise on the complex intersection of global business and public policy.
