PepsiCo Welcomes Chris Manzini as SVP and Head of Global Communications
In an exciting development, PepsiCo has brought Chris Manzini on board as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Communications, with his tenure set to commence in December. Manzini's appointment reflects PepsiCo's commitment to revitalizing its strategic and proactive communications efforts, with a strong emphasis on building a dynamic, digital-first communications team and further enhancing the company's already formidable reputation.
PepsiCo's official statement highlights Manzini's pivotal role in overseeing a substantial communications team comprising 150 professionals, spread across more than 200 countries and territories around the world. In his new capacity, Manzini will report directly to Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Stephen Kehoe, who himself made a significant move from Edelman to PepsiCo in May of this year.
While further details from PepsiCo were not immediately available, Manzini's track record speaks volumes. He joins the PepsiCo team from Edelman, where he dedicated over two decades to the agency, ultimately holding the position of President at specialist agency Assembly Media, which was notably created to serve Microsoft.
At Assembly Media, Manzini played a pivotal role in advancing Microsoft's standing in the realm of artificial intelligence. He was instrumental in developing thought leadership initiatives such as the Work Trends Index, supporting Microsoft's ambitions in the gaming industry, and fostering brand affinity through compelling social content and engagement strategies.
During his extensive tenure at Edelman, Manzini also managed crucial aspects of the business as a General Manager. His responsibilities included overseeing core practice areas such as corporate communications and crisis management, in addition to serving as a trusted advisor to prominent clients including PepsiCo, Shell, Starbucks, and Yum Brands.
Edelman, in acknowledging Manzini's departure, expressed its gratitude for his more than two decades of dedicated service to the agency and its clients. The global communications firm looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Manzini in his new capacity and wishes him the very best in his new role.
As for Manzini's successor at Edelman, the agency has entrusted Lisa Sepulveda, the Global Chief Client Officer, with the ongoing oversight of its global clients, in close collaboration with her leadership team.
PepsiCo's move to bring Chris Manzini into its fold comes at a time when the company is basking in the glow of impressive financial results. In the third quarter of this year, PepsiCo reported net revenue of $23.45 billion, a substantial increase from the previous year's figure of $21.97 billion, surpassing the expectations of industry analysts. The company's net income attributable also witnessed a notable uptick, reaching $3.09 billion, compared to $2.7 billion recorded in the same period the previous year.
PepsiCo, known for its extensive portfolio of iconic brands, including Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Lay's, Doritos, Quaker, Tostitos, and Starry, continues to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the food and beverage industry with resilience and innovation. Chris Manzini's arrival promises to further strengthen the company's communication strategy, ensuring that its remarkable journey is communicated effectively to a global audience.
