Dr. Allan Lichtman, the world-famous historian, has correctly predicted all but one presidential correctly since 1984. Lichtman dismisses public opinion polls, campaign messaging, debate performance, and policy positions. Instead, Lichtman uses a system he created 43 years ago, in the book, Predicting the Next President and explained recently to The Atlantic [Oct. 16, 2024]
“The media, the candidates, the pollsters, and the consultants,” Lichtman writes, “are complicit in the idea that elections are exercises in manipulating voters." In other words, TV interviews, baffling behavior, and blatant lying mean little, if anything at all, to a candidate's ultimate success at the polls.
During this program, Lichtman will discuss the validity of his counter-intuitive approach to Michael Zeldin, former CNN legal analyst.
Moderator Helio Fred Garcia will provide the historical context for Lichtman's remarks. Political communicator, Ann Walker Marchant, will discuss the campaign from the voters' perspective.
