Using Language to Unify and Divide: Harris vs. Trump

A CommPRO Industry webinar with “Words on Fire” Author, Helio Fred Garcia

Helio Fred Garcia’s book Words on Fire looks at the power of incendiary language and how to confront it. President of the Logos Consulting Group, Garcia will provide historical context for decoding the language used by the Presidential campaigns of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

He will highlight coded dog whistles to activate specific groups of supporters, the obfuscation of intent, the undermining of truth, and the danger of stochastic or lone-wolf terrorism.

Garcia will also highlight opportunities for communicators and journalists to build credibility with audiences by learning from the language used by past leaders to unify as well as divide.

This first exclusive webinar for CommPRO industry members is organized in partnership with the Foreign Press Association.
