Author Michael Finkel Discusses 'The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime and a Dangerous Obsession’

On today’s show, we will be speaking with Michael Finkel to discuss his new book, The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime and a Dangerous Obsession, which chronicles the life of Stephane Breitwieser the most prolific art thief in history.

Michael Finkel is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit, as well as the book True Story, about Finkel's strange relationship with a murderer who assumed his identity. It was adapted into a 2015 motion picture produced by Brad Pitt and starring James Franco and Jonah Hill.

Formerly, as a journalist, Michael has reported from more than fifty countries across six continents, covering topics ranging from the world's last hunter-gatherer tribes, to conflicts in Afghanistan and Israel, to the international black market in human organs, and to theoretical physics.
