Paul Kontonis Hired as Chief Marketing Officer at WhoSay

Today, leading celebrity and influencer content marketing company, WhoSay announced Paul Kontonis as their new Chief Marketing Officer. Kontonis, a digital media veteran, brings a wealth of expertise to WhoSay, especially in the areas of video, social and content marketing.

In this new role, Kontonis will be overseeing the company’s marketing, communications and editorial strategies and initiatives. Kontonis, is joining WhoSay from Digiday Media.  At Digiday Kontonis was Chief Marketing and Communications Officer across the media brands of Digiday, Glossy and Tradestreaming, as well as their creative content agency, Custom. In this position, he led the marketing team in all branding, marketing, advertising, email and social programs across all owned, earned and paid platforms to drive audience development and revenue for the brands.

WhoSay is quickly being noticed as one of the fastest growing startups in New York, as they create content for brands starring celebrities, social media influencers and tastemakers. The company has run hundreds of campaigns for brands like Coke, McDonald’s, Google, AT&T, Chevrolet, Cigna, Principal and Comcast, and have featured diverse celebrities such as Sofia Vergara, Eric Decker, Olivia Munn, Emma Roberts and Andy Cohen.

Prior to Digiday, Kontonis served as Senior Vice President, Strategy at Collective Digital Studio, a multi-platform digital entertainment company and multi-channel network (MCN). Before Collective Digital Studio, Kontonis was Vice President, Group Director, Brand Content at Digitas. At Digitas, Kontonis helped establish the Digital Content NewFronts as the premier marketplace for connecting brands with original digital content opportunities.

Kontonis extends his industry leadership as the President of the Global Online Video Association, an industry trade group representing media networks and video platforms. Kontonis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from New York University.
