Travel and tourism PR involves far more than setting up press trips to exotic places. Just take it from Gail Moaney, long-time head of Travel for Finn Partners. She'll talk about the challenges and successes she's experienced building up distinct identities for hotel brands, cruise lines and airlines. She'll present case studies on how she has turned little known parts of the world into world-class tourist destinations.
Gail Moaney is a Finn Partners founding managing partner and serves as executive vice president of Travel & Tourism and director of Travel & Tourism at Ruder Finn, Inc. She has 20 years of experience in agency and corporate public relations and in broadcasting, implementing communications programs for destinations, transportation companies, hotels and resorts, and economic development entities worldwide. Ms. Moaney has been a member of the board of the directors of PRSA NY since 1995. She is a member of the Travel & Tourism Research Association; The Caribbean Tourism Organization; Women in Communication, Inc.; an allied member of the American Society of Travel Agents; North American Airlines Public Relations Association (NAAPRA) and the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). Ms. Moaney sits on the Boards of Counterpart International (non-profit development organization), Lagrant Foundation (TLF) and Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America (OICA). Her awards and honors include PRSA's McEachern and Prism Awards; International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)'s Gold Quill Awards; and National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS)'s Emmy Awards. She is a fine arts graduate of Howard University and holds an MA degree in broadcasting production and management from the American University.A Q&A and networking reception will follow the event session.
