Coach's Corner –  I’m Dreaming of a White ... Paper!

Sam and Jim outside OgilvyJ.D. “Jim” Fox, Head Coach, Next Act CoachingWe’ve all read — and most of us have written — whitepapers to articulate the evidence around a particular topic or point of view.

They can be pretty dry, right? ... even with all the graphic flourishes and pull-out quotes and bright colors?I know all that; I’ve done all that. So, I decided to make my first coaching whitepaper fun, with the advice coming as much from my rescue dog Sam as from me. Think about it ... wouldn’t it be easier to stomach a little “hey, it’s time to get your career and life back on the rails” advice from a beautiful and affectionate dog than from just about any other source?Still with me? Great. This whitepaper is titled “Ten Tips for the Road to Your Next Act: Coach Fox’s Guide to Work, Life and Balance.”The content? Well, it’s about as conventional as having a rescue dog presenting serious information in an entertaining way. I ask you to re-imagine your life as a road trip. You’re the driver; you own the car; you’re responsible for where it goes. My job as a coach is to help you keep moving forward — no small task in our distracted, often frantic world. The best part? You can get it for free. Most of the tips appeared first in my CommPRO column, so it will be familiar territory for regular readers. If you’re not, it’s now all in one place. All you have to do is go to my website, scroll down to the “Join Us” section, enter your preferred email, and we’ll send our 10 Tips to You.Here’s the site: https://nextactcoaching.net/

And yes, for you cheapskates, it is printable as a stocking stuffer. Just don’t throw it anywhere near a dog. He’ll mistake it for a flavored chew toy — that’s what happened with Sam as I was trying to review the print proofs. He thought it was tasty enough, but prefers rawhide. I’m betting you’ll find it even more palatable. Can’t beat the price.
