Jeff Beringer Takes Helm as Golin’s Chief AI Officer
In a move to impact the landscape of public relations, Golin has appointed Jeff Beringer as its first-ever Chief AI Officer (CAIO). This significant appointment marks a pivotal step in Golin’s journey towards becoming a fully AI-integrated global agency, reflecting the industry's growing reliance on artificial intelligence.
Jeff Beringer, a seasoned executive with two decades of experience at Golin, will be at the forefront of this transformation. His role involves crafting and executing a comprehensive AI strategy designed to modernize the agency's operations and services. Reporting directly to COO Gary Rudnick, Beringer’s mission is to embed AI into every facet of Golin’s operations, from client service models to workforce training.
"Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, communicate, and create," says Matt Neale, CEO of Golin. "By appointing Jeff as our Chief AI Officer, we aim to make Golin the first fully AI-integrated global PR agency. Our goal is to deliver cutting-edge, future-focused solutions that drive superior results for our clients."
Beringer is no stranger to innovation. Over his 20-year tenure at Golin, he has been instrumental in leveraging technology to redefine marketing and communications. His initiatives have optimized operations, enhanced client services, and fostered innovation, earning him accolades such as PRovoke Media's 2023 Innovator 25 and PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 honor in 2013.
Reflecting on Golin's proactive approach, Rudnick recalls a principle from the agency’s founder, Al Golin: "Fix it before it breaks." This philosophy led to the agency's radical restructuring in 2010, transitioning from a hierarchy of generalists to communities of specialists. "That same forward-thinking spirit will drive our AI integration now. Jeff's expertise will ensure a seamless adoption of AI capabilities that empower our teams worldwide," Rudnick adds.
Beringer’s prior role as Global President of Digital saw him navigate the rise of social media and the initial forays into influencer marketing. His leadership in harnessing data for real-time engagement has been pivotal for the agency. Recently, he has been central to integrating AI innovations to improve content testing, campaign measurement, and misinformation detection.
"After two decades at Golin, I'm excited to lead the agency's next transformation," Beringer says. "Golin’s entrepreneurial culture and collaborative client partnerships are the perfect conditions to thoughtfully implement AI for the benefit of our people and clients."
Golin’s commitment to AI is a testament to its relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation. As the industry continues to evolve, Golin is positioning itself at the forefront, ready to leverage AI’s potential to redefine public relations.
