Simon Erskine Locke, Founder & CEO of CommunicationsMatch™Larry Weber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Racepoint Global, was the keynote speaker at Capitol Communicator’s PR Summit DC, July 18. The founder of successful public relations and interactive marketing agencies and author of six books, he may be best known as the "Weber" in Weber Shandwick.I caught up with him on the sidelines following his presentation for a Communicators-to-Communicators three-minute video interview.Weber shared a key takeaway from his new book Authentic Marketing: How to Capture Hearts and Minds Through the Power of Purpose as well as perspective on the role of technology in communications. In the interview, he notes the importance of companies having both a moral purpose and an ethical approach to capitalism. He notes that “increasingly customers and prospective customers are going to be looking for companies that are good.”A thought leader on the convergence of technology, the Web, and communications, Weber discusses the role of technology in communications, arguing it is or should be a force for good. With 40 years of technology experience, he advises communicators to get educated on what tools are available and incorporate them into communications strategies and to simply be more technology savvy.Watch the video here:
