Playing The Blame Game

Playing The Blame GameThomas Madden, CEO, TransMedia Group

Okay, who’s to blame for that sudden steep stock market plunge that’s taken a hefty bite out of our net worth?I’m trying to aim a spotlight on the guilty, but it won’t stand still.  It keeps roving across a panoply of blamers.President Trump blames the Fed. Democrats blame Trump. Investors blame tech stocks. The Global Warming Foundation blames climate change for unleashing monsoon Michael on Florida’s battered panhandle.  And Elon Musk blames everybody.Enter the modern Don Quixote known as Earnings Season.  Let not his sidekick Sancho Guidance tip the windmills even more to the downside with his common sense that serves as a foil to the mad idealism of his master. After this latest market blowout, Trump points to Fed Chairman Powell as his scapegoat du jour. "I think the Fed has gone crazy," he said.Yes, maybe crazy like a fox guarding a nervous chicken coop.  But as Kanye raps, for better or worse, we have the coop’s honcho on a “hero’s journey.”
