DAA’s Bold Move to Revolutionize the PR Industry With New Board Members
The Diversity Action Alliance (DAA) is entering an exciting chapter in its evolution with the announcement of its 2025 Board of Directors. This milestone marks the beginning of a transformative period for the organization, following a successful fifth year in 2024. Carmella Glover, President of the DAA, is leading the charge as the organization continues to expand its influence in the communications and public relations sectors with a strategic vision focused on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
With a new set of board appointments, the DAA is further solidifying its commitment to being a central driver of meaningful change within the industry. The latest board appointments bring a wealth of experience, leadership, and innovation. Among the new members are Dr. Rochelle Ford, CEO of Page, Diana Littman, CEO of MSL Group, and Barby K. Siegel, Global CEO of Zeno Group. Their appointments signal a major step in the DAA’s mission to accelerate diversity, equity, and inclusion across the communications field. These accomplished leaders are joining a board that already includes strong voices like Soon Mee Kim, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Omnicom CCN and the DAA Board Chair, and Kim Sample, CEO of the PR Council.
Carmella Glover expressed her excitement about the new appointments, saying, “We’re thankful to all of those who’ve previously served on the DAA Board and are thrilled to welcome these accomplished new leaders. Their added perspectives and proven expertise will be instrumental in advancing our mission, achieving shared goals, and amplifying our industry-wide impact.” Glover’s leadership is pivotal as the DAA shifts toward a more inclusive future, with a clear focus on bringing together diverse voices and perspectives to strengthen organizational cultures across the industry.
Reflecting on the DAA's strategy, Glover added, "This is an exciting time of transformation for the DAA. The strength and diversity of our Board will ensure that we continue to be at the forefront of the conversation on inclusion, empowering organizations to bring forward new, creative solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow."
As part of the DAA's growth strategy, this announcement comes as the organization moves toward a major structural transition. By March 31, 2025, the DAA will officially transition into an independent nonprofit organization, a pivotal move that will enable the DAA to operate with greater autonomy and sustainability. This transition marks the culmination of years of foundational support from Page, and positions the DAA to broaden its impact by adopting innovative approaches that align with the evolving needs of the industry.
“We are deeply grateful for the foundational support of Page in helping us reach this pivotal point," Glover said, reflecting on the ongoing support the DAA has received. “The transition to an independent nonprofit organization will position us to further expand our impact, providing our community with the resources and leadership it needs to navigate the complexities of today’s industry.”
The new appointments are not only a sign of the DAA’s ongoing growth but also a testament to its strategy of strengthening its leadership and expanding its network. This is crucial to the DAA's long-term goal of uniting leaders and organizations to drive transformation across the communications and public relations industries. With the formation of the new Alliance Roundtable, which includes organizations such as Hold the Press, HPRA, and the Institute for Public Relations, the DAA is set to amplify its mission and advocacy efforts in a significant way.
In her closing remarks, Glover expressed her optimism for the future: “We are excited to share more updates in the months ahead as we continue to expand our leadership team and evolve how we provide value to our signatories, partners, and industry community. This milestone is just the beginning, and we’re committed to being your indispensable partner, providing robust and engaging resources, expanding access to our programs, and deepening our positive collective impact.”
As the DAA continues to lead the charge for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in communications and public relations, Carmella Glover’s leadership ensures that the organization remains a powerful force for positive change. Through innovative strategies, partnerships, and a commitment to accountability, the DAA is poised to meet the challenges of the future and strengthen its role as an industry-wide catalyst for transformation.
