As a PR Specialist, you will work with the Amazon Consumer PR team and key business leaders to imagine, develop and execute communications programs designed to support the consumables business, which includes everything from Amazon Baby/Baby Registry, Beauty/Luxury Beauty/Men’s Grooming to Health & Personal Care and Amazon Elements.The successful candidate should possess excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability, exceptional initiative, and a talent for collaboration. She/he should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines. Creativity and flexibility are a must.The PR Specialist will be responsible for tactical execution of consumer and retail public relations programs. This individual will manage proactive and reactive national and regional media relations and may serve as a spokesperson for special company projects.Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal executives on both short and long term challenges and opportunities.Manage public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazon.com across various categories.Support Amazon business teams by pitching products and trends.Research and integrate industry news, trends and compelling angles into PR programs.Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson for various categories.Write, develop and manage approvals for news releases, media advisories, fact sheets and related media materials for Amazon’s North American retail business.Help manage an external public relations agency.Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges.Build and maintain relationships with key consumer and trade mediaBasic Qualifications. Minimum of five years of public relations experience. Background working with Internet, technology or retail companies. Experience executing highly successful, creative media campaigns. Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications. Consumer PR experience is preferred. Exemplary written and oral communications skills. Ability to efficiently manage and solve problems and challenges. Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. Painstaking attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
