Stagwell has announced its acquisition of UNICEPTA, a global media monitoring and analytics platform, to integrate it into Stagwell Marketing Cloud’s PRophet Comms Tech Suite. The UNICEPTA acquisition marks Stagwell’s ninth acquisition in 2024, following additions such as Team Epiphany, Sidekick, and LEADERS.

Aaron Kwittken, Founder and CEO of Stagwell's PRophet Comms Tech Suite, emphasized the transformative nature of Stagwell’s acquisition as pivotal for the $9 billion comms tech industry, stating: “This is a game-changer for the burgeoning, nine-billion-dollar comms tech industry, enabling PRophet to compete at scale and dethrone stodgy old-school competitors everyone loves to hate. UNICEPTA will supercharge our global suite of AI and human-powered software and services, adding sophisticated always-on reputation management and campaign tracking capabilities, joining our award-winning journalist and influencer discovery, management, and content generation platforms.”

The acquisition expands PRophet’s global capabilities, a move Kwittken sees as critical for modern communicators: “This gives PRophet the ability to provide a full suite of AI-powered tools to modern communicators globally—from media relations to media intelligence and influencer engagement across four continents. It’s also going to make these tools more accessible at more reasonable costs for brands and agencies alike, especially in the U.S., while dramatically improving performance and productivity.”

UNICEPTA, with 30 years of expertise in data-driven insights, has earned a reputation as a leader in media monitoring and analytics for Fortune Global 500 companies. Headquartered in Cologne, the company operates in eight countries across four continents, with offices in Berlin, London, Paris, São Paulo, Shanghai, Washington, and Zurich. Their impressive track record includes five Gold Awards at the 2024 AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards.

Kwittken highlighted the increasing importance of advanced media intelligence tools in combating modern information challenges: “I think the market for media intelligence, analytics, and monitoring, which was once a commodity just a few years ago, is becoming a premium, critical need given the rapid proliferation of mis-, dis-, and malinformation.”

The integration of UNICEPTA’s capabilities into PRophet ensures that modern communicators have the tools they need to stay ahead of misinformation while managing campaigns and tracking reputational risks in real-time.

This acquisition marks Stagwell’s ninth deal in 2024, following other notable additions such as Team Epiphany, Sidekick, and LEADERS. It reflects the company’s strategic focus on delivering tools that blend creativity with cutting-edge technology. UNICEPTA’s Co-CEOs, Sebastian Rohwer and Alexander Peinemann, will remain at the helm, joining PRophet’s growing global team of over 500 members under Kwittken’s leadership.
